Bauhaus has been building quality upholstered furniture in Northeast Mississippi for 23 years. After 50 years in Canada as Bilt Rite Inc., the company moved to Mississippi in 1988. The company was purchased by La-Z-Boy in May of 1999. As of April 2014, Bauhaus is no longer a part of La-z-boy and we are an independent company.
Bauhaus is one of only 3 companies that has ever received manufacturing authority for textiles in a Free Trade Zone.
Bauhaus offers a range of both fabric and leather sofas, sectionals, and occasional chairs that range in style from Traditional, Casual, and Contemporary. Bauhaus offers styling that meets today’s lifestyles.

The Bauhaus Frame
The Bauhaus frame is constructed from engineered woods that are glued, stapled, and braced for durability.
Sinuous seating system utilizes heavy gauge tempered steel springs which are clipped and braced with a plastic coated wire that adds increased strength and improved seating.
The Bauhaus seat cushioning system is comprised of a 5 inch coil insert inside a premium 1.8 lb. density polyurethane foam wrapped with two 2.25 ounce per sq. ft. layers of thermally bonded polyester fiber laminated to the foam core.
Innovative design and construction. Bauhaus developed a coil cushion construction called C3 (Comfort Coil Cushion) that has differentiated us in the market place and put us two years ahead of our major competitors in product innovation and quality. In the two years we have been using C3 in the field we have had no defective replacements ordered.
Back cushions are filled with a premium 15-denier conjugated polyester fiber that adds a lush feel with durable, resilient wear.
Our 22″x 22″ accent pillows are comprised of 100% feathers with a total weight of 3 pounds each.
Tailoring & Padding
Bauhaus furniture features fully padded outside arms and outside backs. Corrugated board is attached to the frame; foam padding is then applied before the piece is upholstered.
